Some people make cocktails. Andrei Borisik sets them on fire. Literally.
At the C Kite Festival 2025, we turned up the energy — waves, wind, music, and a whole lot of wow. And right at the centre of it all? A Berlin-based flair bartender with fast hands, fearless moves, and a spirit as vibrant as the island breeze.
When we invited Andrei as our special guest, we knew he’d bring the show. What we didn’t expect? The wild cheers, wide eyes and full-body goosebumps as he lit up the beachfront stage — shaker in one hand, flame in the other, the ocean behind him and a crowd dancing to the rhythm of every pour.
From the football field to the flair stage

Andrei’s story isn’t typical. But then again, nothing about him is.
“I used to play professional football for 11 years,” he says. “A knee injury put a stop to that. Then, on a train ride, my cousin gave me a cocktail book… and that changed everything.”
What followed was a deep dive into mixology, flair, and performance — with daily practice, bartending competitions, and stints behind some of Germany’s most iconic bars. Today, he runs two companies: Barshow Berlin, his cocktail catering and event business, and Vault Bar, a secret speakeasy in Berlin where cocktails come with a side of curiosity and cool.
What makes Andrei special? It’s the balance. The craft behind the cocktail. The technique behind the theatrics. “I love understanding how ingredients work, how flavours balance. But flair is what brings it all to life — the movement, the energy, the fun,” he shares.
Football may be behind him, but the footwork’s still there — in every spin, every catch, every smooth-as-silk bottle throw. “It’s part art, part science, part pure adrenaline.”
When flair meets island freedom

So, why did Andrei say yes to Mauritius?
“The C Kite Festival felt different,” he says. “It’s not just a festival — it’s a vibe. The location, the people, the sea breeze, the sound of kites and waves… it’s everything all at once.”
The setting of C Mauritius Palmar didn’t hurt either. “The resort was full of life — yoga at sunrise, kitesurfing all day, music at night, always something happening. It was high energy, but never too much. It felt free. Natural. Real.”
Inspired by the island’s ingredients and laid-back rhythm, Andrei crafted two signature cocktails for the occasion:
🍹 Afternoon in Mauritius – A tropical twist featuring Mauritian rum, local lager, banana syrup and lime. Unexpected, light, and full of fun.
🥥 Pandan Colada – Creamy coconut, pineapple, and pandan syrup. A cool, coastal upgrade to a beachside classic.
“I wanted every sip to taste like sunshine — like Mauritius in a glass.”
Andrei’s performances pulled in crowds. Laughter, gasps, slow-mo phone recordings, and lots of “did you see that?!” moments. “People love fire. They get excited. Some even asked to try the tricks… until they realised it’s not as easy as it looks,” he grins.
But it wasn’t just the show — it was the connection. The shared energy. The joy. That’s what makes it memorable. “Performing on a beachfront stage, ocean at my back, the crowd full of life — that’s a feeling I’ll carry with me forever,” Andrei says. As for what’s next? He’s transforming his Berlin bar into a dance-focused, live-show space. And he’s keeping Barshow Berlin on the move — from Mauritius to Monte Carlo, always chasing the magic mix of work, travel, and meaning.
